Discover Tuscany from the road on a 5-day Tuscany driving tour created for travelers who want to experience the region rather than simply travel through it.

This is a carefully planned Tuscany road trip combining driving, culture, wine, food and charming accommodations. A local Tour Manager leads the driving journeys, while selected experiences and stops introduce you to the places, traditions and flavors that make Tuscany unique.
One car is provided for each couple, turning the journey itself into one of the highlights of the trip.
Rather than following busy highways, the itinerary favors panoramic country roads, hill towns and landscapes made for slow travel. Between driving stages, there is time to discover historic villages, enjoy traditional Tuscan lunches, visit wineries and explore Siena with a local guide.
Embark on a journey where every turn of the key opens up a new chapter of discovery. Book your Vintage Car Tour now and let the romance of Italy unfold before you. Drive through history, savor the present, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
A Tuscany Road Trip Designed Around the Journey
There are many ways to discover Tuscany, but few allow you to experience its countryside as naturally as travelling by road.
Our 5-day Tuscany driving tour has been designed around this idea. Instead of moving quickly from one famous attraction to another, the journey follows a sequence of scenic roads connecting wine regions, medieval towns and some of the most recognizable landscapes in central Italy.
Your driving adventure begins in the countryside near Siena before continuing south toward Montalcino and the Val d’Orcia. From here, rolling hills, vineyards and cypress-lined roads create the landscape that has become one of the most iconic images of Tuscany.
Behind the wheel of a two-seater convertible, you can enjoy these roads at a relaxed pace while following the Tour Manager leading the itinerary.
Three Days of Scenic Driving
The five-day program includes three guided driving journeys.
Each route has been selected not simply to reach the next destination, but to make driving part of the experience itself.
The itinerary crosses the Sienese countryside, Val d’Orcia and Chianti, three areas with very different landscapes and personalities.
Expect winding country roads, vineyard-covered hills, small villages, panoramic viewpoints and plenty of opportunities to stop and experience Tuscany away from the main tourist routes.
Siena, Montalcino, Pienza and Chianti
Driving is only one part of the journey.
During the tour, you will explore some of Tuscany’s most celebrated destinations, including Siena, Montalcino and Pienza, together with smaller villages and countryside locations discovered along the route.
A guided visit provides a deeper introduction to Siena, while the journey south leads into the landscapes surrounding Montalcino and Pienza.
Val d’Orcia is particularly suited to a driving itinerary. Its rolling hills, vineyards, medieval settlements and cypress-lined roads form a cultural landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The final driving stage takes you north again through the Chianti wine region, where vineyards and historic wine estates accompany the route.
Wine and Tuscan Food Along the Way
A Tuscany road trip would not be complete without discovering the region through its food and wine.
The program combines scenic driving with selected culinary experiences, including traditional lunches and winery visits.
In the Montalcino area, discover the countryside associated with Brunello di Montalcino, while the journey through Chianti introduces another of Tuscany’s historic wine landscapes.
Dinners are intentionally left mostly free, giving couples the opportunity to choose their restaurant and enjoy each evening at their own pace.
Boutique Accommodation in the Tuscan Countryside
Four nights are included during the journey, divided between carefully selected accommodations in the Chianti area and the Brunello wine region.
The properties are chosen to complement the road trip: places surrounded by countryside where you can relax after driving, enjoy breakfast in Tuscany and prepare for the next day’s journey.
With luggage transfer available when required, you can concentrate on enjoying the drive rather than managing the logistics of moving between hotels.

How long is the Tuscany driving tour?
The complete program lasts 5 days and 4 nights. Three of those days include guided driving journeys through different areas of Tuscany.
Which hotels are included in the Tuscany driving tour?
The tour includes four nights in carefully selected accommodation: two nights in the Chianti/Siena countryside and two nights at a wine resort in the Brunello di Montalcino region.
The exact properties may vary according to availability and departure date. Tuscan Team selects country hotels, historic villas and wine resorts that complement the itinerary and provide convenient access to the scenic driving routes.
Do we stay at the same hotel throughout the tour?
No. The itinerary uses two different areas as bases for the journey.
You will normally spend the first night in the Chianti/Siena countryside, followed by two nights in the Brunello wine region near Montalcino. On Day 4, the journey returns to the Chianti area for the final overnight stay.
When necessary, luggage transfer between the accommodations is organized, so you do not need to carry your main luggage in the two-seater convertible.
Which areas of Tuscany will we visit?
The itinerary explores the Sienese countryside, Siena, Montalcino, Val d’Orcia, Pienza and the Chianti wine region, together with smaller villages and scenic stops along the route.
What type of car will we drive?
Each couple drives a two-seater Italian convertible, selected to make the journey through Tuscany as enjoyable and distinctive as the destinations themselves.
Specific models are subject to availability.
Do we drive the car ourselves?
Yes. Guests drive their own assigned car while following the route led by the Tuscan Team Tour Manager.
This gives you the pleasure of a self-drive experience combined with the organization and assistance of a guided journey.
Is this a self-drive Tuscany road trip?
It combines elements of a self-drive holiday and a guided tour.
You drive your own vehicle, but the itinerary, routes, accommodations and scheduled experiences are organized in advance, and a Tour Manager leads the driving stages.
Do I need an International Driving Permit?
Driving-document requirements depend on the country that issued your license and current Italian regulations.
Before travelling, guests should check the requirements applicable to their driving licence and bring all necessary original documents.
Tuscan Team can provide information about the documentation required for participation in the tour.
How many people share each car?
The experience is designed primarily for two guests per car, making it particularly suitable for couples.
The tour price is calculated per couple sharing one double bedroom and one vehicle.
Is luggage carried in the convertible?
Because two-seater convertibles have limited luggage space, luggage transfer can be arranged when required as part of the program.
This allows you to enjoy each driving stage without having to fit your main luggage into the car.
Are meals included?
The program currently includes four breakfasts, three lunches and the welcome dinner on Day 1.
Most evening meals are deliberately left free so you can select your own restaurant and enjoy dinner independently.
Are wine tastings included?
Selected winery and wine experiences form part of the itinerary, including visits connected with the Montalcino and Chianti wine regions.
Guests who are driving should always follow the instructions provided by the Tour Manager and applicable road-safety rules.
Is the tour suitable for solo travelers?
Yes. Solo travelers can join the experience, subject to availability and the applicable single-traveler conditions.
Contact Tuscan Team for the current solo traveler rate and vehicle arrangements.
What happens if there is a problem with the car during the journey?
The driving stages are led by a local Tour Manager and organized as a supported experience.
Should assistance be required during the route, the Tuscan Team staff will coordinate the appropriate support so that the journey can continue as smoothly as possible.
What should I pack for a Tuscany driving holiday?
Comfortable clothing, suitable footwear, sunglasses and seasonal layers are recommended.
Because you will be driving an open-top vehicle, sun protection is particularly useful during the warmer months, while a light jacket can make spring and autumn drives more comfortable.
Experience Tuscany from the Driver’s Seat
Tuscany is a destination made for slow travel.
Its vineyards, hill towns and country roads reveal themselves gradually, and travelling by convertible gives you the freedom to experience every change in landscape along the way.
From Siena to Montalcino, from the hills of Val d’Orcia to the vineyards of Chianti, this 5-day Tuscany driving tour transforms the journey itself into the experience.
Discover Tuscany one road, one village and one unforgettable view at a time.
